The Chorus Business Technology UFB display suite consists of a fibre-lab, training, administration rooms and display areas.
This display suite is an educational tour showing the workings of the Chorus cutting edge fibre cabling technology, from the home environment, through the street to the exchange. It had to provide an environment for innovation and testing new product concepts.
User groups of the display suite will be broadband retailers through to the technicians responsible for the installation.
The final solution was a carefully thought out design that successfully created an informative journey allowing the Chorus story to be told seamlessly in a functional and considered environment.
A colour palette to reinforce the client brand and materials such as cedar boards to suggest exterior elements and the New Zealand environment was used. We incorporated different ceiling heights and finishes to cocoon and zone areas.
As part of spatial solution the training rooms were positioned along the external walls; this resulted in natural back lighting to the printed streetscape glazing film graphics that divided the training rooms from the exhibition space.
We developed a design concept for the dining/meeting table that successfully re-used the Swedish pine planks from old cable drums.
