Peddle Thorp are proud to be working with Ballantynes designing a new building for their Lichfield Street frontage in Christchurch. The redevelopment replaces the two temporary buildings constructed following the loss of the Andersons and Stables buildings in the February 2011 earthquake. Ballantynes initially lost 2550 square metres of trading space and four levels of car parking as a result of damage from the event.
The new building comprises of a basement, two floors of retail with offices and car parking above. The new retail space will link seamlessly with the existing, with a new café and deli at the base of a triple height glazed atrium. The building will be an exciting addition to the expanding and dynamic retail precinct of Christchurch and act as an integral part of the Ballantynes retail experience.
