About this Project

Takutai Square is a redeveloped urban space set in the heart of the Britomart Precinct.

Sitting directly above the underground rail station, Takutai Square straddles the Te Ara Tahuhu walkway, and provides a public plaza to the Westpac on Takutai and Ernst Young Buildings which Peddle Thorp also completed with JPW.

It includes new Titoki trees to define the street edges, and a new 'front lawn' area for public use. It retains the earlier sculptural rock garden, pipi beds and water fountains by sculptor Chaz Doherty
