About this Project

The Hilton Queenstown is idyllically sited on the edge of Lake Wakatipu at Kawarau Falls Station, surrounded by the dramatic natural landscape of Central Otago.

The hotel opened to guests in 2011 and has 148 spacious guest rooms, 30 unique studios or suites, signature restaurant, cafe and bar and meeting facilities. The health and wellness facilities include a state-of-art gymnasium and indoor swimming pool and a luxury spa.

The material palette accents natural materials, largely inspired by the Central Otago region. The roof is typically finished with a pebble ballast that is sourced from the nearby Kawarau River, and successfully anchors the project into its environment.

Peddle Thorp were also involved in the Hilton Kawarau Residences located immediately adjacent to this new 5 star hotel.

The building not only serves as a quality amenity for Hilton Queenstown and its patrons, but also provides an attractive destination for the wider Queenstown community. The result is a hotel of significant scale and quality, but which belies its size and sits respectfully in its spectacular natural environment
