We are excited by the commencement of work on the Maureen Plowman site. Situated in the heart of Browns Bay, the existing retirement village is undergoing a major redevelopment in order to meet the changing needs of the retirement living and aged care market. Featuring stunning sea views, Maureen Plowman will offer a full continuum of care where residents can live independently in a supportive environment with access to rest home and hospital facilities as required.

Set to become the tallest residential tower in New Zealand, 85 Customs Street Residential will be another significant contribution by Peddle Thorp to Auckland’s skyline. We are very encouraged to observe the high level of activity and progress at the project site to date. An organised site has seen a number of activities continuing to flow in parallel over the past few months. The demolition of the two storeys and basement of the former language school building is currently in its final stages - an activity that clears the path for the substructure enabling works to be completed within the next few weeks. This is a significant milestone for the project as the completion of these activities will signal the commencement of the 16 metre deep permanent basement works.

Peddle Thorp are delighted to have re-established sponsorship of the Keystone Trust. Keystone has given students a hand-up into property related tertiary studies for 21 years and supports them through their studies. Our support of Keystone complements our annual Unitec 4th year in-house programme and our participation in Auckland University’s Open Desk scheme.
Keystone Trust’s 2017 Study Award and 2017 Scholarships applications open in June. Don't miss out on the opportunity to gain on-site experience, rub shoulders with leaders of the property industry and receive funding and support from one of the best scholarship programmes around. Scholarships are open to all NZ resident students, wishing to or currently studying a property related degree at any tertiary institution in NZ. For all further information visit Keystone's website.

Well done to Power Smart Solar for completing the last of twelve solar power installations pre–Christmas, across the remote Northern Cook and Tuvalu islands.
This Ministry of Foreign Affairs New Zealand Aid Programme project involved a total of 7500 Solar PV panels, reducing dependency on expensive fossil fuels and making a big difference to the lives of many people. Peddle Thorp were involved with each of the 12 power house buildings across a range of scales, the brief for each including cyclone resistance to 250 kph, fully passive ventilation, simplicity of design and ease of construction.

The third and final basement pour on the ANZ Centre was completed on Saturday 11 July.
The pour started at 1am and lasted 11 hours with 370 concrete trucks delivering approximately 1870 cubic metres of concrete. This pour represented the largest single concrete pour in Christchurch’s rebuild. Four concrete pumps were involved, with one being craned into the basement and concrete being pumped from Cashel, Colombo and High Streets.
